The Writers’ Cottage, located just two doors off Duval at 508 Louisa St., is the perfect blend of classic Key West comfort and state of the art amenities. A longtime haven for artists, writers and romantics, Upper Duval St. is Old Key West at its relaxed best. A charming area for strolling, this neighborhood boasts half a dozen art galleries. Rock away the afternoon with an iced latte on the front porch of the Key West Coffee & Tea House.
Completely renovated in 2005, the Writers Cottage is a true home away from home, featuring one bedroom with Queen bed, cable television and DVD, marble bathroom, full kitchen, washer and dryer, central heat and air and bamboo hardwood floors throughout.
The living room has a queen sleeper sofa, and sliding doors close off the space entirely to create a private sleeping area with dresser and closet for visiting guests or family. The living room also features a stereo, a 25 inch screen television with DVD, and private phone line with answering machine. Stay in touch or work (if you must) in your tropical island home with WiFi capability and a laser jet printer.
The gourmet kitchen is the perfect place to try your hand at island cuisine. The kitchen is fully appointed with top-of-the-line appliances and granite countertops. Or grill your fresh catch al fresco on the gas grill just off the porch.
The softly lit, mirrored bathroom features a marble shower large enough for two. All linens and beach towels are provided. Housekeeping is available.
Just two blocks from a public beach, The Writers’ Cottage residents also enjoy access to 2 pools on Center Street.
